Chinese/English Inglewood Manor Wedding, Cheshire
Inglewood Manor House Wedding
Today we are showing off the beautifully intimate Inglewood Manor wedding of Ting & Nick.
Ting is from China and Nick is from the UK. They met during their studies in Finland and have been inseparable ever since. In 2017 Ting flew back to China by herself while Nick stayed behind to prepare for his PHD interview. A few weeks later, and a PHD place in the bag, Nick boarded a plane and flew to China to celebrate with Ting. Being such a large country, Ting had to fly to Chongqing to meet him at the airport. She waited for 26 hours and barely slept as Nick flew across the world to meet her. As soon as Nick saw Ting at the airport, he knelt down and asked her to marry him. Gah we love a good love story! 😍
Love across two continents
In order to celebrate with both families, across two countries they love, Nick & Ting decided to have two weddings. One, traditionally Chinese, and the other classically English. They were married in China before having a civil celebrant service from the amazing Wendi Surtees-Smith at Inglewood Manor. Wendi’s service was fun, joyous and full of special touches. She included sand blending in the service and we absolutely loved this symbolic way of joining the two families.
This wedding was all about the personal touches. Ting looked stunning in her dress which was handmade by a friend, and her father painted and handed out Chinese calligraphy to the guests. Ting’s bright red shoes were the perfect splash of colour. She wore them during her Chinese wedding and it was such a fantastic way to tie the two together. Inglewood Manor, with its striking Tudor woodwork and gorgeous landscaping, made for a wonderful backdrop to this celebration of different cultures and traditions.
