Sarah Joy and Luke’s Cheshire pre-wedding shoot
I drove over towards Cheshire for Sarah Joy and Luke’s pre-wedding shoot which they’d chosen to have at Sarah Joy’s parents home in Weaverham.
In the lead up to our shoot they’d both told us something that a lot of couples are very keen to make us aware of; “We’re really awkward in front of the camera, you’ll never get any decent photos of us”
We hear that a lot! And you know what, we like a challenge! Only joking, seriously, we love it when you just relax. Embrace that awkwardness, laugh through it and be yourselves. That’s all we want from you.
Riverside pre-wedding shoot
Luckily Sarah Joy and Luke had absolutely no issues with that. They decided the best way to stop feeling awkward was to embrace their natural silliness and have as much fun as possible. They are huge fans of the outdoors so we spent their portrait session out on the river and exploring the nearby woods.
We started the evening in a dinghy, risking life limb and camera! If you see our photos we are not scared to get close to our couples but even I’ll admit it was a tight squeeze to have all of us in the dingy. Totally worth it.
It’s really important to us to photograph couples in their favourite places and for Sarah Joy and Luke that meant getting their house boat involved. Sarah Joy loves playing the ukulele so we sat up on the roof of the boat as the sun went down, listening to her play some fab music (she’s really, really good!) and snapping away as they laughed together.
Pre-wedding shoot portraits
We love meeting up with couples ahead of their wedding day and, if you choose to, taking some natural photographs of you both. It’s a great way to get used to how we work and to put your mind at ease about getting your picture taken. After a shoot so many of our couples tell us how it helped with their pre-wedding nerves and they really relaxed once they realised we weren’t going to spend hours making them pose like models!
