Head to the mountains during your wedding? Why not?

You may have spotted this gorgeous couple on our blog a couple of weeks ago when we shared their epic summer evening engagement session. Check that post out right here. So, now it’s time to show off this blockbuster wedding featuring outdoor dancing, roadtrips to the mountains, the coolest of cool cat couples and the ever amazing Hafod Farm.

Hafod Farm wedding photography – Laura and Gwillym

This is the story of an awesome couple whose incredible outlook of their wedding day, and cracking sense of humour had us laughing all day.

Laura and Gwillym live and work out in Hong Kong so planning their day back in Wales wasn’t the easiest task for them, especially with the time differences! To make things slightly easier they decided to concentrate on their main priorities first, namely making sure that their guests were well fed, had plenty to drink and had the best time on the day. Hafod Farm, tucked away in the Conwy Valley, Snowdonia, ticked all the boxes.

Weddings at Hafod Farm

Once they had the venue sorted, Laura and Gwillym set to work on deciding how their day would pan out. They quickly agreed that they wanted a boho, rustic feel to their celebrations, covering the venue with fairy lights, bunting and foliage, seating their guests on hay bales and providing lawn games for them. The farm looked incredible and they really had put their own stamp on it. With entertainment from the ukulele duo Rock My Reception, games of beer pong and “THE WEDDING PLAYLIST” full of requests from guests, they really had ensured that their wedding was a true reflection of themselves and their guests.

One of our favourite elements of Laura and Gwillym’s wedding was that they chose to have their first dance outside, surrounded by their guests and sparklers. It was such a special moment.

Prior to their wedding, they told us that their top tip for couples planning a wedding was “Do what makes you happy and don’t fret about others”. We completely agree!

Snowdonia wedding photography

As regular blog readers will know, we are huge fans of Snowdonia National Park and photographing weddings and pre-wedding shoots surrounded by these incredible mountains is one of our favourite parts of the job. We already knew from their engagement session that Laura and Gwillym also had a huge love of the mountains, so we weren’t surprised that they wanted them featured in their wedding day. So after dinner, we hopped in the car and headed off to capture some truely stunning photos.

We know loads of great spots that are off the beaten track and love hearing all about new places too. If you’re planning a wedding in or around Snowdonia, or simply want some portraits of you both, then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you! And if you fancy a trip to the mountains on your wedding day, well, you are our kind of people.
