Styled Session at Henblas Country Park

February 19, 2021

Last year a friend of ours was planning his wedding. He and his fiancee had their venue and date booked in and were getting really excited. Then they found out about a new venue appearing on the Isle of Anglesey. It wasn’t long before they had cancelled their first venue, instead choosing to book in with Henblas Country Park. When you find the right venue for your wedding, that’s it.

So, we looked into it. We started following Henblas on instagram and they were doing some amazing work on turning this grade II listed building, once a collection of agricultural barns and also a children’s adventure park in the 90s, into a stunning wedding venue. I got in touch with the lovely Heather who is running things over at Henblas and arranged to pop over and have a look around.

It’s always a joy to meet folk in the wedding industry. We’ve said it before but working at a wedding is a personal thing. I never consider myself to be purely doing a job when I’m working. It’s more like I’m hanging around with friends and capturing some excellent photos (don’t get me wrong though, I work my butt off at each and every wedding). The same thing goes with all the vendors. No one is is there just to do a job. Everyone wants to work hard for sure, but like we said; it’s personal.

Modern venue

So I popped over in the summer to check things out. It’s such a cool venue. Heather does an awesome job on her own blog explaining the process of what the buildings used to be and how they’ve turned them into this stunning venue. With a fairy light forest (check out the photos to see how that looks), a stunning vaulted barn (the ballroom) and the white gallery ceremony room. One of my favourite parts of the venue is that it’s set up for small and large weddings alike. If you’re planning on having a large blow out wedding, there’s the main barn. If you’re planning something smaller and more intimate, they have room for that as well. And the guest rooms… mwah! So good!

There’s land to explore for photos or if you fancied there’s Aberffraw beach only 20 minutes drive away. It really is an idyllic spot for a wedding and we are so excited to be there again soon.

Styled Shoot, Awesome Vendors

Anyways, it was some time later in the summer that our friend Sara Roberts got in touch about a styled shoot she was putting together at Henblas Country Park. There was only one answer as to whether we’d get involved. Yes! We’ve worked with Sara a few times, on other styled shoots and at real weddings. We absolutely LOVE her hair styling. It fits in so perfectly with our vibes. Along with Sara, our good friend Jade Leung was on styling, MUA from Kay Evans, a gown from Sws Bridal, florals from Bluebells Floral Designs and so many other excellent suppliers on the details. Dream team for sure. Just check out the full list of suppliers below.

Minimalist Styling

When Jade Leung is on styling, you know it’s going to be on point. Dried flowers and grasses, peach vibes and fresh eucalyptus, the florals suited these converted barns perfectly. Simple, elegant, neutral table settings with soft flowing cottons and plenty of candles to finish the look. We particularly love the asymmetrical ceremony display, from the tiny candle holders, in stark contrast to the towering grasses, it a masterpiece.

Perfectly in-keeping with the styling, Sara Roberts once again knocked the hair styling out of the park, soft, relaxed and stunning, with glistening accessories from Clare Lloyd which add just the right amount of sparkle.

Oh and we’re nearly always asked about what happens if it’s raining on the day. Well this is a perfect example of how it’s not hard to let the weather get in the way. It was a chilly October day and it DIDN’T. STOP. RAINING. All day long. Did we let that bother us?!? Nope not at all.

Huge thank you to all of the vendors involved, each and every one bringing their own gorgeous pieces for this showcase of relaxed elegance at this wonderful new venue.
